Meet Alyssa

My name is Alyssa & I'm obsessed with weddings.

I have loved weddings since I was a little girl. Anything girly & sparkly has always had my heart. Plus, being highly organized, detail-oriented & a people-person was a plus for this industry.

Growing up, I thought I always wanted to be a music teacher but as I was pursuing my degree, I soon realized (half way through college too) that I was meant be in the events industry. With an almost completed music degree and no idea how to get my foot in, I sought a part-time internship with a wedding planning company. I instantly was hooked and knew, this is what I was meant to do.

After a summer abroad in Chile, I was determined to find a job in the wedding industry. I found my first job working at a venue in Katy called Agave Estates. I was one of their Event Coordinators and was coordinating 1-2 weddings almost EVERY weekend. I got burnt out after almost two years and decided I love weddings but I needed to take a break from the wedding industry.

Many months and a few jobs later, I moved from Houston to Round Rock (north of Austin) because I found a more "corporate event" job coordinating medical conferences in Downtown Austin. I love having a normal work schedule, while having the flexibility to do my weddings on the weekends.

As well, I got married to the love of my life, Jonathan, on December 28, 2019 in Driftwood! It was glorious and the best day of my life. I learned so much while being a bride and love giving those tips and tricks to my couples!

I didn't know if I was going to continue weddings after leaving Agave but they continued to follow me through friends getting married. I knew that this is something I'm passionate about and would continue doing but on my own schedule.

So here I am today with Alyssa Marie Events. I pride myself in being budget-friendly but with the experience of a coordinator who has worked almost 200 weddings! So, feel free to slide into my dms & let's make your wedding the  BEST. DAY. EVER!
